SUMMARY:Boundary Boondoggle: The Chaos and Confusion of the California/Nevada Border\, Presentation and Talk by Deborah A. Fox
DESCRIPTION:Mark Your Calendars! The Shoshone Museum is Pleased to Present Award-Winning\nGraphic Novel Creator and Historian DEBORAH A. FOX for an Exciting Presentation! \nHosted by the Shoshone Museum\, this presentation reveals the drama behind the Nevada/California border. In “Boundary Boondoggle\,” author and historian Deborah A. Fox unfolds the story of the disastrous 1861 Boundary Survey Reconnaissance and reveals why it took over a century to establish the boundary between Nevada and California. Complete with camels\, rouge surveyors\, missing reports\, and maps\, the epic story features a crooked commissioner whose expedition made important discoveries despite its colossal failure. This event is free to the public and Fox will sign copies of her award-winning graphic novel after the talk. \nFox comments: The story of the Nevada/California border has all the elements of an epic saga.  The expedition hit its climatic low point as it hit the Amargosa Valley\, and the results were errors\, lawsuits\, and confusion that took over a hundred years to resolve.
